Eleanor is a British artist working between Athens, Greece and London. Geometry, pattern and structure found within architecture are all prevailing themes within her work which she explores through a variety of mediums such as screen printing, digital drawing, gouache paint, cyanotype and collage.

She founded a screen printing studio; Kypseli Print Studio, in a central neighbourhood of Athens where she makes her work and provides workshops and residencies to the local and international artist community.

She completed a BA in Fine Art Printmaking from the University of Brighton in 2008 and an MA in Fine Art Printmaking from the Royal College of Art in 2011.

After completing an artist residency in Greece with Snehta in 2016, her practice was greatly inspired by the city of Athens and its modernist and Art Deco architecture. By isolating shapes found in, for instance, Art Deco metalwork, and reimaging these forms, she explores and deconstructs the fabric of the city. The strong Athenian light, vivid pink sunset skies and surrounding Aegean sea have all contributed to her vibrant sunkissed palette, where colours and gradient blends interact with one another and create a sense of movement within the work.

She recently published a book ‘Doors of Kypseli’ with Athens based publishers Hyper Hypo. The book is a compilation of 100 illustrations of doors presenting the diverse array of wrought iron door designs from this culturally and geographically central Athens neighbourhood which she spent around two years working on.

In addition to her smaller scale practice, she undertakes large scale public commissions. In 2017 she completed her first major public commission ‘Undulations’ for the Crown Estate in London, made up of thousands of laser cut pieces of metal, which can be found just off Piccadilly Circus on Sherwood Street W1. She has also been commissioned by the Bow Arts Trust to work on several public commissions in schools across London.
